What’s New for 2024?
Since the CX-5 has been updated for several years, many of its features are the same as in previous generations. But the 2024 model does have one new addition, and that’s the Carbon Turbo trim level. The Carbon Turbo has brown Zircon Sand paint and black trim pieces, including wheels and mirror caps. The Carbon trim also includes the optional 256-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine and all-wheel drive.
Performance
There are two powertrains available for the Mazda CX-5. There’s the 2.5 S, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower. Then there’s the 2.5 Turbo, which has a turbocharged version of the same engine and outputs 227 hp, though with 93 octane fuel, the power rises to 256 hp.
With two engine options, the CX-5 has two fuel-economy ratings. The base engine is estimated to get 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. While the turbocharged engine is estimated to get 22 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway.
Technology
In the cabin, Montgomery and Mason, OH, residents will find the CX-5 loaded with great tech. Every model has a 10.3-inch infotainment display that operates through voice commands and a rotary controller. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and with Mazda Connected Services, several remote vehicle functions can be operated via a smartphone app.
