The 2024 Mazda CX-90's all-new 3.3 Turbo engine is augmented by a 48-volt mild hybrid system that harvests the energy typically lost during braking and redeploys it to assist the engine in high-load situations. The result is improved efficiency, more responsive acceleration, and reduced emissions. The turbocharged 3.3-liter I-6 engine sends 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque to the wheels through a new e-SKYACTIV®-Drive 8-speed automatic transmission. And a new rear-biased i-ACTIV AWD system provides more athletic handling and surefooted control in inclement conditions.

2024 Mazda CX-90 Plug-in Hybrid
Later in its initial launch cycle, the 2024 CX-90 will introduce Mazda's first plug-in hybrid variant, a 2.5-liter e-SKYACTIV®-PHEV making 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. A 17.8-kWh battery allows the CX-90 PHEV to operate in electric-only mode for shorter trips, providing an estimated 26 miles of range. With Level 2 (240V) charging equipment, you can replenish the battery 20–80% in just 1.5 hours. But you don't need to install special equipment to get the most out of the plug-in hybrid experience. The CX-90 PHEV can charge in 6 hours 40 minutes using a standard 120V household wall outlet.
