Mazda is known for its cutting-edge, fun-to-drive vehicles. When you drive home in a new Mazda vehicle, you can expect a car or SUV that delivers exciting performance and state-of-the-art features. The all-new, upcoming Mazda CX-90 will continue this tradition, helped along by a tremendous new engine. Here is what you need to know about the new I-6 engine of the CX-90, before the vehicle is available for sale at Kings Mazda in Cincinnati, OH.
The New Mazda I-6 Engine
Once the three-row CX-90 arrives, you can opt for a brand-new engine. The CX-90 will offer a 3.3-liter turbocharged I-6 engine that produces up to 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque when you use premium fuel. This engine will be the most powerful gas engine ever featured in a Mazda vehicle. The I-6 engine also has a mild 48-volt hybrid motor.
Will Other Vehicles Have the 3.3-liter I-6 Engine?
The CX-90 is the only vehicle so far that is confirmed to have the new 3.3-liter turbocharged I-6 engine among its options. However, there is a good chance that the engine will be included with the CX-70, the two-row sibling of the CX-90 that will be unveiled soon.
Other CX-90 Specs
The standard CX-90 will feature a version of the 3.3-liter Turbo I-6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The CX-90 will come standard with a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, while a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds will be available. All CX-90 models will come standard with all-wheel drive.
